Kim Dye - Pianist

Residence: I have lived in the Memphis area since 1991. I presently reside in Cordova.

Birthday: December 19th

Originally from: Tulsa, Oklahoma

Ministry Background: Providence (formerly Hollywood) Baptist Church pianist since September 1999

My Family: Husband Richard, son Micah, daughter Gwena, and son Luke

Personal Story: I love music, especially instrumental music. I began playing the piano when I was eight; my dad gave me my first lessons. I also play the trombone and baritone horn and I am trying to teach myself to play the trumpet. My favorite kind of music is jazz. Besides playing for the church, I have taught piano lessons for the past eight years.

Favorite way to read the Bible: Chronologically! I am reading through the One-Year Chronological Bible for the third time, and it is tremendous to see how the prophecies and psalms fit into the chronology. The drawback: I tend to forget which order the books of the Bible are really in!

Favorite book of the Bible: James

Favorite verses: Psalm 37:3-5
"Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass."

My hobbies: Photography

I hope heaven includes: An orchestra, so that I can play in Jesus' orchestra!

The best way to pray for me: Pray that I would continue to grow and learn as I read His Word and hide it in my heart • Pray for patience and wisdom as I home school our children
